Australian Market Report
9 January Wednesday – It was a mixed session for the market today as various economic data came out. Retail sales figures disappointed while job vacancies fell to a 30 month low. Iron ore prices garnered attention today, notably touching 15 month highs. It’s no surprise then that index heavy weights, financials and materials all had notable gains but it was information technology that chalked up the most runs. The only sector to experience losses was energy.
