Rapaura Springs Judged No2 New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc
The Rapaura Springs 2012 Reserve Sauvignon Blanc has been named one of the two best Sauvignon Blancs in the country by
Cuisine Magazine’s judging panel.
Owner Brendan Neylon says achieving number two rank, as well as a five star accolade, denoting “outstanding quality” in
a wine, is an excellent result from such a prestigious tasting, and perfectly timed for Christmas.
He says the Marlborough wine company’s success is not all about winning gold medals. “It’s about forging links with the
people that love our wine, and creating wines that truly express themselves. We give our winemaker Michael Bann the pure
freedom to produce premium wines, without limitations in either viticulture or winemaking.”
The judges on the Cuisine tasting panel said the wine exhibits ripe herbal flavours mingled with notes of Mirabelle
plums and warm lemons. “A textural flintiness adds vigour and the finish is juicy and long,” they said, recommending the
wine be tried with salmon steaks and salsa verde, or as an aperitif.
The Cuisine achievement follows hard on the heels of other wins for the Rapaura Springs 2012 Reserve Sauvignon Blanc,
which took Pure Gold in the Air New Zealand Wine awards and Gold in the International Aromatic Wine Competition.
This wine is available at premium outlets while limited stocks are available.
