A
special trust fund has been set up for the families of the
three men tragically killed in last week’s devastating
tornado in Hobsonville, West Auckland.
The Hobsonville
Tornado Families Fund is open to anyone who wishes to make a
donation.
Donations can be made at any branch of the Westpac Bank, or by electronic funds transfer to the following account:
Account name: The Hobsonville Tornado
Families Fund
Bank / branch: 031509
Account number:
0165507
Suffix: 00
Hobsonville Land Company, together with its partners, is also collecting donations for the trust fund at the Hobsonville Point Farmers Market, Catalina Café and at the Hobsonville Point showhomes.
Hawkins Construction, which operates the building site where the three men lost their lives, is initiating the trust fund supported by George Grant Engineering, Vuksich and Borich and Hays Personnel, the employers of the three men.
Hawkins Construction Executive General Manager Dan Ashby says: “This is an extremely tragic time for the families, particularly with Christmas only two weeks away. A number of people have contacted us with very generous offers of help, so we thought the best way to facilitate this was to set up a special trust fund which everyone can contribute to. The fund will be administered by independent trustees to ensure that all proceeds are distributed to the affected families. We know the families will really appreciate this support.”
