The New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants (NZICA) congratulates Warren Allen FCA on becoming the first New Zealander to head the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC).
Allen is a recently retired partner at Ernst & Young in New Zealand and served on the firm’s Management Board for more than six years. He is a Past President and Life Member of NZICA.
“Warren Allen has a long and distinguished career in the profession. This is a wonderful accolade for him and we wish him all the best for the next two years,” says NZICA Chief Executive Terry McLaughlin FCA.
“It is only the third time in the past 37 years that the IFAC President has come from the Southern Hemisphere and, as such, his appointment is recognition for NZICA and for the good work that our members have done at international forums over many years.”
IFAC represents 2.5 million professionally qualified accountants across 173 member bodies in 129 countries.
