Held from February 21-23 in Dargaville the Northland Field Days is one of the country's biggest regional outdoor exhibitions drawing hundreds of thousands of dollars into the Kaipara and tens of thousands of people from all over New Zealand and Australia to the actual event.
The attraction of people makes it an incredibly attractive event to attend according to businesses from all over New Zealand, who say it is the only chance a year that such a wide number of people from such a large area will be in one place.
Bryant Tractors has had a site at the event for 29 years without fail and director Murray Bale says it presents representatives with the opportunity to see many potential customers in one place that they have been talking to remotely for weeks and sometimes months.
"This gives us chance to catch up with existing clients and hopefully get new clients to check out some of our products."
Dargaville Honda owner Bruce McKenzie goes further saying "If you're not there you're nowhere."
Dargaville Honda has been at the Northland Field Days for the past 12 years and McKenzie says there is no comparison when it comes to lead generation.
"There is no other time of the year when so many people walk by your door," says McKenzie. "For what we spend on it its as good, if not better than anything else we do."
Dargaville Honda generates a good number of solid leads an event with some years bringing in a lot of leads and Mckenzie says the secret is keeping staff on site.
"It's no good getting a site and then leaving it empty. We always make sure someone is on our site at all times."
Mckenzie is looking forward to the earlier date and says it should bring more visitors.
"The weather should be better and it's not so close to the Central Field Days so that should be a good thing."
The Northland Field Days will be held from February 21-23 in Dargaville, two and a half hours North of Auckland.
