SCMP Website Wins Major Award
29 November, 2012
The South China Morning Post website, built by Catalyst IT and launched in September this year, last night won a gold award at the prestigious Asian Digital Media Awards, held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
"We are extremely pleased that this site has been recognized as being a gold medal winner. This is further proof that open source software is the smart choice for companies working in environments where flexibility and scalability are critical.
"Catalyst has over a decade's experience in working with media businesses and we have developed expertise in understanding the needs of the sector and how to translate that into websites that are technically sophisticated, easy to use for editorial staff and readers and able to deliver commercial results," Don Christie, Catalyst Director said.
The website, scmp.com, won a gold award in the Newspaper website category. The awards are given by the World Association of Newspapers and New Publishers. More that fifty media companies from sixteen countries across Asia and the Middle East participated in the competition.
