Mud House Wine Group Appoints New Group Winemaker

Mud House Wine Group Appoints New Group Winemaker

The Mud House Wine Group is excited to announce the appointment of Ben Glover to role of Group Winemaker, overseeing all the company’s wines, including wines in the Mud House and Waipara Hills ranges.

CEO MJ Loza described the appointment as a significant step forward in continuing to develop Mud House Wine Group into a company recognised not just for outstanding wine quality, but also as an industry-leading, New Zealand owned wine business.

Ben Glover joins Mud House Wine Group from Lion New Zealand where he held the role of Director of Winemaking and Chief Winemaker of Wither Hills Vineyards. Ben is also a highly respected senior wine judge and Wine Marlborough board member. “We are thrilled to have someone with Ben’s winemaking expertise, commercial acumen and industry profile join the team” said Loza. Ben will be responsible for leading an experienced winemaking team including Mud House winemakers Nadine Worley and Hayden Oliver and Waipara Hills winemaker Simon McGeorge. He will work with company and grower vineyards in Marlborough, Waipara Valley and Central Otago.

Ben joins his brother Jack at Mud House Wine Group. Jack, who is responsible for Sales and Marketing across the company’s portfolio, says that having the opportunity to work at a senior level in a forward thinking business like Mud House with his brother is a fantastic opportunity. Top priority after vintage 2013 will be getting together with brother Ben to leverage Mud House’s status as Official Wine Supplier to Emirates Team New Zealand as they compete for the America’s Cup from next July in San Francisco.
