PlaceMakers customers reign supreme in 2012 House of the Year
PlaceMakers is celebrating the Registered Master Builders House of the Year after its customers dominated the list of winners.
The country’s top residential properties were announced at a gala event, attended by 500 construction and building professionals, in Auckland at the weekend.
PlaceMakers customers scooped 17 of the 22 awards up for grabs, including 2012’s two Supreme Awards.
PlaceMakers Chief Executive, John Beveridge, said to have PlaceMakers customers take out the majority of awards was a huge coup and demonstrated its trade capability attracted the best builders in New Zealand.
“Our customers represent more than 80 percent of this year’s winners. It’s an outstanding result and acknowledgement for all their impressive work,” Mr Beveridge said.
The hotly contested and coveted Supreme Award went to PSL Construction Limited for its stunning development of a cliff-top property in the Auckland suburb of Remuera.
The property was praised as a work of art by the judging panel who said the thoughtful use of materials and outstanding craftsmanship made way for an inviting indoor outdoor flow.
The weekend’s other Supreme Award went to Riordan Construction for its renovation of a three-bedroom home in Matua, Tauranga.
“I’d like to congratulate PSL Construction and Riordan Construction for their well deserved wins in what are New Zealand’s best building awards – the Registered Master Builders House of the Year,” Mr Beveridge said.
“I’m delighted to see PlaceMakers customers being so highly commended for their hard-work and passion in turning their clients’ ambitious visions into a reality.”
After 22 consecutive years as the lead sponsor of the Registered Master Builders House of the Year, PlaceMakers will from here on support the awards as part of a panel of industry sponsors.
The changing sponsorship will see this team of experts work together to promote and encourage wider industry participation to further enhance the reputation of the respected competition.
“For House of the Year to remain the country’s best building competition, attracting the best talent, we must continue to evolve and this new inclusive sponsorship ensures that,” Mr Beveridge said.
“PlaceMakers is excited at the opportunity to promote the competition to all Registered Master Builders Federation builders and stakeholders, alongside fellow building industry experts.”
