Distinctive silhouettes reign over the Dalston Winter 13 collection
The new Dalston Winter 13 collection was inspired by fragments of winter and features fabrics of cotton lace and rich velveteen’s in ivy tones, deep sea blues and autumnal prints. An intentional balance of careful soft draping and sharp, well-cut separates, means that items can be worn together to create a distinctive silhouette. Signature pieces play on the theme of warm winter textures and colours while continuing with the winning shapes that are infinitely wearable Dalston staples.
The Collection:
Make a statement on a winter’s day with the accents of brilliant reds that are dotted throughout the collection, reflected in the luscious velvet Florence dress, the flaming cord self-belted Janey dress and the true red 1940's glamour of the Judy dress, these pieces are promised to set you apart on the sidewalk.
Similarly, the stunning copper-toned abstract print of the Eleanor dress will brighten up a winter’s day. This dress is accentuated with magyar sleeves and a fitted waist with the hemline hitting the knee. Cinch with a belt or wear loose as a beautifully draped sophisticated dress.
The divine Fallon and Lauren tops draw inspiration from Monet’s watercolours and are sure to remind you of the summer months to come. These floral garden prints look great teamed with a cigarette slim Tiggy trouser. Alternatively, wear with one of our classic Dalston Katy or Jessie skirts in denim, velvet or needle cord; a carried over signature skirt shape which flatters all sizes.
Shimmer by the fire in the Goldie skirt where thoughtfully placed tucks allow the pencil skirt to skim flatteringly over the waist and hips. Team with the Isla top in flowery cotton lace with a mid length sleeve and exposed back zip, choose from ink, black or crème.
For something more traditional, the vintage inspired Chrissie dress in viscose crepe has a fitted basque and gently gathered skirt with covered buttons through the front. The sleeve is pin-tucked for a flattering fit with slit detailing. Classic in ink, it is also available in malibu blue and rich pinot red.
Jo Jo leggings can be worn as leggings or a pull on trouser allowing for simple, stylish layering. Wear with a striking digital print Vera top or Josie top in a warm spice cotton rich lace with a 3/4 sleeve which sits flatteringly on the hips. Alternatively float the Pippa dress over the top of them as a great matte legging.
The multifunctional Pippa dress, in floaty viscose, has raglan butterfly sleeves to give it a truly relaxed feel. Try it cinched at the waist with the self belt or a contrasting coloured leather belt, or wear it loose as a shift for ultimate comfort.
If you’re a fan of the less is the more approach you will adore the classic lines of the Lucy dress. Absolute simplicity in itself, layer with a merino underneath or a jacket over the top to warm up this trans-seasonal dress option.
Dalston designs are locally made using high quality fabrics sourced from around the world.
