Deloitte Tax Team Continues to Impress
Deloitte New Zealand’s tax practitioners recognised on the international stage
Kudos continue to roll in for the Deloitte New Zealand tax practice with recognition from the latest World Tax rankings, Euromoney Guide to the World’s Leading Tax Advisers and Legal Media Group Asia Women in Business Law Awards.
For the fourth year in a row, Deloitte New Zealand has been designated a Tier 1 firm by World Tax. Published by International Tax Review, the World Tax rankings are based on the recommendations of corporate tax directors and advisers at multinational companies and advisory firms around the world. World Tax focuses on the leading firms for tax advice and its annual rankings cover 56 jurisdictions. Internationally, 97% of all Deloitte firms have come in as Tier 1, up from 95% last year.
Deloitte has dominated the New Zealand list in the Euromoney Guide to the World’s Leading Tax Advisers, with five individuals listed out of a total of fifteen for the country. Of the remaining ten experts listed, only one is from another “Big Four” firm. Making the list are Deloitte New Zealand’s CEO Thomas Pippos, Managing Tax Partner Ross Milne and Partners Teresa Farac, Allan Bullot and Campbell Rose.
In addition, Teresa Farac has been named as a finalist in the tax category of the Asia Women in Business Law Awards, to be announced in Hong Kong later this month. Teresa won this award last year, as well as the Australasian equivalent award in August.
Managing Tax Partner Ross Milne says that this recognition for the tax practice is especially satisfying as it not only comes from peers, but much of it originates from the recommendations of Deloitte’s clients.
“Continuing to receive international accolades from multiple sources is further proof of the strength of Deloitte New Zealand’s tax team,” says Mr Milne.
“It is further recognition of the excellent work that all our partners and staff put in on a daily basis,” Mr Milne adds.
