Campaign for Wool Aukland and Canterbury Wool Events
The 150th Canterbury A Show is in full swing over the next three days (Wednesday to Friday).
The Campaign for Wool Patron HRH The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall will be attending the show on Friday
afternoon at 2.35pm. They will be hosted by the Canterbury Show Committee and will be visiting and viewing a number of
different events throughout the show.

wool stands who are flying the banner for the Campaign for Wool:
Wool Advancement Group (WAG)
Located at the west end of the Trade Pavilion (The Riding for the Disabled Pavilion) the Wool Advancement Group have put
together a display of wool innovation items – “a smaller scale version of the Auckland event” Including the following
exhibitors:
Roger Beattie: First NZ producer of organic certified wool yarn. Always testing new ideas including seaweed.
Cliff Heath: Chairman of Wool Equities Ltd and their new subsidiary, the closed Milton Mills, now re-opened and buying
wool to make yarn.
Bev Forrester: Pre-eminent coloured sheep breeders. and operator of a wool shop in England. Bev designs fashion as a
hobby and has been accepted for the next Auckland Fashion Show.
Woody Radford: Director, Radford Technologies. Latest innovation – felted yarn used by his son at Radford Rugs (on
floor of show stand) and for Beattie’s horse rope.
Jane Shand: A new weaver using only natural undyed wool with the brand name “Jane Henry”.
Eugene O’Sullivan: Fibrescan World leading edge measurement of numerous traits that can now be measured on farm rather
than in a laboratory.
Roger Hodgkinson: Deviser of a new art form using dyed wool sliver instead of paint to produce landscapes. This artwork
is not for sale but is valued at $1,700.
John Dawson: General Manager of NZWSI who use WRONZ licensed technology to produce beautiful Glacial fibre for rugs.
Glencairn Stud / Mihi Merino
Located on the main walkway you can learn more about stud animals from Glencairn, Mihi merino garments, Exquisitive
Blankets, wool coffins and more at this stand.

Auckland – Shear Brilliance Event
The Campaign hosted HRH The Prince of Wales Monday, November 12 at Shear Brilliance – a wool showcase at The Cloud,
Queens Wharf, Auckland. At the event, Prince Charles proudly wore his New Zealand wool suit and told exhibitors New
Zealand is globally recognised for the quality of its wool.
