JUCY voted Best NZ Car & Campervan Company 5th year in a row
JUCY Rentals has again been voted Best NZ Car & Campervan Rental Company at Thursdays International Golden Backpack Awards in Sydney.
Almost 80,000 votes were received before the winners were revealed to the 360 guests at a gala dinner held at Cockle
Wharf in Sydney, hosted by TV presenter and adventurer Peter Wells.
During a 10-week online campaign, backpackers voted for their favourite hostel, tour, car, campa and backpacker night in
every state across Australia and New Zealand.
The Golden Backpacks are Australia and New Zealand’s only dedicated awards programme for the independent travel sector.
Since launching in New Zealand in 2001, the funky JUCY brand has experienced great success both in its homeland New
Zealand, Australia and this year launching into the United States.
Founded by Tim and his brother Dan Alpe, the JUCY concept has expanded from being a unique car hire company providing
affordable yet luxurious car and campervan rentals, to being one of Australasia’s fastest growing independent tourism
companies.
Tim & Dan are ecstatic about taking out the award for the 5th year running:
“The success of JUCY is largely due to the fact that we run the business like a big family” says Tim. “We know most of
our 200 crew and make sure we get around all our locations on a monthly basis to ensure we don’t lose touch with our
JUCY-fiers”.
Tim explains: “JUCY is first and foremost a marketing company that just happens to run rental cars, campervans, hotels
and a cruise company. The JUCY Brand is our greatest asset and what sets us apart from our competitors. It is not about
simply being Green and Purple but more about offering something totally different to what is currently in the market
place. Embracing the latest technology and using next generation innovation are keys to JUCY’s continued growth and
success.”
“We still get excited each time we see one of our cars or campervans on the road, or when we see people’s eyes light up
when they walk into the JUCY Hotel. Motivation has never been an issue for us we love what we do and consider JUCY to be
our baby,” says Tim.
