New Name for Historic Napier Property
Econo Lodge Napier
Choice Hotels’ Econo Lodge Westshore Beach has become Econo Lodge Napier to increase the property’s recognition as an accommodation option in popular tourist destination, Napier.
Econo Lodge Napier, owned by Carol and Jeremy Bayliss since 1995, is on a landmark site that has been a part of the Westshore community for almost 160 years. The current building was established in 1925.
In addition to a name change, Econo Lodge Napier will open Hawke’s Bay’s first dedicated New Zealand Craft Bier Garden in December, which will serve a range of New Zealand beer on tap and over 60 bottled beers. Econo Lodge Napier’s Crossing Bier Garden will feature a large lawn and barbeque tables for locals and visitors to soak up the Napier summer sun.
This history rich property’s other onsite facilities include Hawke’s Bay’s oldest bar and an award winning bistro which has been operating on its original site in the hotel since 1925 serving a long list of local and international beer and wine.
The Econo Lodge Napier bistro provides guests with locally sourced fresh food including the freshest Hawke’s Bay fish and a selection classic meat and vegetarian options, weekends for lunch and every night for dinner.
Econo Lodge Napier is located 50 metres from Westshore Beach and Ahuriri Lagoon, the new walkways and cycle ways. The property is just five minutes from Napier’s famous Art Deco district and with over 60 wineries in close driving distance, Econo Lodge Napier is a great choice for those wanting to explore the best of what Napier and Hawke’s Bay has to offer.
The property has 11 rooms and suites. Guests have the option of studio, one bedroom, or two bedroom suites, which can sleep up to five occupants. Each suite is equipped with air conditioning an ensuite, internet access, and LED TV with SKY and kitchen facilities.
Choice Hotels’ General Manager Sales and Marketing, Aileen Cobern says: “It’s an exciting time for this little gem of a property, with the first New Zealand Craft Bier Garden in Hawke’s Bay opening on site this December. Carol and Jeremy Bayliss can be commended for constantly adding new features to improve their property to appeal to guests and travellers.”
