Sacred Hill introduces 2011 Hawke’s Bay HALO Merlot Cabernet Franc
Sacred Hill has released its 2011 Sacred Hill Hawke’s Bay HALO Merlot Cabernet Franc to the market, offering wine lovers
a food friendly wine with depth and character.
Handcrafted techniques create texture and depth and the wine has indulgent aromas of red and black fruits combined with
liquorice and chocolate.
The palate has mid-palate richness and spicy complexity with ripe black cherry flavours. Its full bodied structure and
soft dry finish make it the perfect wine to accompany barbecued red meats.
Chief winemaker Tony Bish said the great spring conditions and early summer in 2011 ensured the Hawke’s Bay vineyards
had strong and healthy canopies and got off to a great start, with the summer weather ensuring the vines ripened well.
“Hawke’s Bay has a long tradition of producing full bodied and elegant Merlot dominant red wines with complexity and
depth. The HALO range is crafted to bring premium wines into everyday enjoyment,” says Mr Bish.
Matured in French oak barrels, the wine has fine tannins for depth and definition. Although ready to drink now,
cellaring will ensure it can be enjoyed in years to come.
This richly textured red from the famed Gimblett Gravels region of Hawke’s Bay is yet another premium wine from the HALO
range. Named after the distinctive halo on the Sacred Hill logo these wines are a genuine reflection of the land from
which they come.
