Art Deco Trust on the lookout for new Ambassadors
Trust on the lookout for new Ambassadors
23 October 2012
The search is now on for a new group of young ‘guys and girls’ to be this summer’s Napier Art Deco Ambassadors. Following on from last year’s successful debutant outing by Felicity Dorrington-Smythe and Andrew C Montgomery 111, the Art Deco Trust is once again calling for applications from local, young people to take on the role for the coming summer cruise and holiday season.
Art Deco Trust General Manager Sally Jackson said the Ambassadors were extremely popular with tourists to Napier from all over the world last year and were an integral role in the unique visitor experience to the city.
“We are creating a fabulous personal tourism touch point with the Ambassador programme,” said Mrs Jackson.
Rick Hopkinson the Ambassador Marketing Co-ordinator for the Trust reported “The huge positive feedback we’ve had from local tourism operators and retailers has meant that we are once again looking for talented young actors and singers to take on the part time paid role during the summer University and School holiday period. Potential Ambassador applicants should have a background in acting and a bubbly enthusiasm for City Promotion.”
Outgoing Ambassador Felicity Dorrington-Smythe, said the Ambassador role had been personally very rewarding. “Roving the streets of Napier you get to meet lots of different people from so many countries and sharing the Napier ‘Art Deco Story’ with them was a real buzz. It really was a fantastic summer job.”
Applications are now open by ‘liking’ then applying at www.facebook.com/artdecoambassadors or by emailing trust@artdeconapier.com
