New and improved HRV receives Sensitive Choice tick
Significant advancements in HRV’s filtration technology have landed the company’s new ventilation system the sought
after Sensitive Choice Blue Butterfly.
The accreditation was awarded to HRV after a panel of experts judged the advances in its new filtration technology,
including market-first nanofibre filters, to provide a better alternative for allergy sufferers and asthmatics.
The Sensitive Choice® Blue Butterfly logo trust mark is awarded by the Asthma Foundation of New Zealand and the National
Asthma Council Australia. It symbolises that a product has been evaluated and reviewed by an independent product
advisory panel, and that it actively reduces allergy and asthma triggers.
Jennifer Smyth, Sensitive Choice coordinator, says, “HRV’s home ventilation system is highly innovative and features
world leading filtration technology that is a Sensitive Choice® for asthma or allergy sufferers.”
HRV is the only company in New Zealand to offer Seta nanofibre technology in its filters designed specifically for kiwi
homes.
Developed exclusively for HRV by kiwi business Revolution Fibres, supreme winner of the 2012 New Zealand Innovators
Awards, the Seta filter has a layer of microscopic nanofibres that create purer air, filtering out ever smaller
particles, pollutants and harmful allergens that other filters miss.
“Our product advisory panel was impressed with HRV’s new ventilation system, featuring Seta filtration technology, and
agreed that it ticked all the boxes for a healthy home environment,” continued Smyth.
The Sensitive Choice panel comprises six experts, including a respiratory physician, an allergist, a general
practitioner, a pharmacist, an industrial chemist, and an asthma sufferer.
HRV CEO Bruce Gordon says, “The product advisory panel scrutinises and discusses each application with rigor to ensure
the Sensitive Choice accreditation maintains a high level of integrity. Many applications are not successful.
“We are very pleased to have received another Blue Butterfly for our latest offering as we strive to create products
that achieve optimum results for the health of kiwi families and their home invironments.”
The Asthma Foundation’s Sensitive Choice® programme is committed to improving the respiratory health of all New
Zealanders.
