Heritage Hotel Management is delighted to announce the appointment of Vicki Bretherton as the general manager of Heritage Hanmer Springs.
Vicki is a seasoned hotel manager and respected former employee of Heritage Hotel Management. In 1996 she managed CityLife Wellington A Heritage Hotel which was the first hotel in the Heritage Hotel Group. She then went on to manage the award winning Heritage Queenstown in 1997.
Always an innovator, Vicki recognised early the potential for a fine food establishment in Auckland’s Viaduct harbour and opened a popular store and café just in time for the Americas Cup boom.
She was then drawn homewards to the South Island to manage a Queenstown resort, before moving to join family in Christchurch and manage a luxury lodge there.
Always a contributor to the hospitality industry, Vicki has always shared her leadership skills and experience in the roles she’s had, from serving on the board of Destination Queenstown, chairing the Queenstown winter marketing group, through to organising the Williamsburg conference for Asia Pacific leaders.
For the past seven years she has been the regional manager for the Air New Zealand South Island Koru Lounges, based in Christchurch.
Vicki reports she is delighted to be back with Heritage Hotels and working in the Canterbury region.
“I consider myself the luckiest hotel manager in the world. I couldn’t hope for a better hotel to manage as Heritage Hanmer Springs in my beloved Canterbury. I am absolutely committed to advancing growth in visitors to our region under the iconic Heritage brand and working with the industry to positively move our region forward,” says Ms Bretherton.
Vick Bretherton replaces Tony Howlett who has been appointed general manager – sales and marketing for Heritage Hotel Management based in the Auckland corporate office charged with the CityLife, Heritage and Heritage Boutique Collection brands.
