Bus unions seek meeting with NZ Bus

Delegates from the FIRST Union and the Auckland Tramways Union met to discuss how to make progress in their bargaining for a new collective agreement with NZ Bus today.

Karl Andersen, spokesperson for the two unions, says they have asked for a meeting with NZ Bus on Wednesday, October 10, to discuss why members had rejected the last offer from the company and to look at potential ways forward.

“We think it’s important to pass on to NZ Bus the reasons our members have given us for not ratifying the agreement we put to them from the company,” he says.

“The unions want to make sure that every avenue for settling this agreement is pursued and believe the blockages to achieving a settlement can be removed.”
