Hogget Wool Prices Ease, Coarse Types Strengthen
New Zealand Wool Services International Limited’s General Manager, Mr John Dawson reports that the North Island offering of 11,500 bales saw an 87.6 percent clearance with the finer types easing and coarser types firming.
The weighted indicator for the main trading currencies increased 0.73 percent, playing a minor role in the market movements.
Mr Dawson advises that the nominal offering of Fine Crossbred Full Fleece eased 2 percent with the Hogget Shears ranging from 1 to 3.5 percent softer.
Coarse Full Length Fleece attracted good attention, lifting 4 percent.
Coarse Shears were firm to 2.5 percent dearer depending on style and length.
Oddments were generally unchanged overall.
Limited competition with China, Western Europe and India principals, supported by Australasia and the Middle East.
Next sale on 27th September comprises approximately 13,700 bales from the South Island.
