Optimal Usability on govt professional web services panel

13 September 2012

Optimal Usability appointed to government professional web services panel

Optimal Usability is honoured to be appointed to the procurement syndicate panel of professional web services to government departments.

The cross-government initiative will see Optimal Usability, amongst other companies, help streamline the process of dealing with government online.

Optimal Usability CEO, Kris Nygren, says his company’s vision is to help New Zealand organisations provide world-class customer experience and being appointed to this panel is one step nearer to making this vision come true.

“We’re passionate about making it even easier for Kiwis to access the public sector and look forward to working with respective departments to make this a reality.

“We’ve helped to design and evaluate hundreds of websites over the past nine years, including more than 120 design and research projects with more than 40 public sector agencies,” says Mr Nygren.

Optimal Usability’s particular strength is the way it focuses on the user. Its team has significant first-hand experience observing everyday New Zealanders interacting with websites. To date, it has conducted usability testing with more than 6,000 participants.

In addition, it is the only New Zealand company to offer an eye tracking service for website users. Eye tracking uses sophisticated technology to reflect invisible infrared light from the viewer’s eye and pinpoint exactly where he or she is looking. Eye tracking helps to better understand emotions and cognitive processes by tracking eye movement and eye-fixation patterns.

“This is an amazing technology that uses sensors in the base of a special monitor to track eye movements to within millimetres. Our eye tracking service allows you to climb inside your users' heads and see your designs through their eyes,” says Mr Nygren.
