Electronic Card Transactions: August 2012 key facts
Changes in the seasonally adjusted value of transactions (compared with July 2012) were as follows:
• Total electronic card transactions rose 2.4 percent.
• Transactions in the retail industries rose 3.0 percent.
• Transactions in the core retail industries rose 1.0 percent.
• Fuel had the largest rise, up 10.8 percent ($67 million).
The actual (unadjusted) value of transactions in the core retail series was up 5.1 percent from August 2011.
