Gen-i’s secure fibre service
provides infrastructure to support brand
experience
AUCKLAND, 10
September, 2012 – Gen-i’s broadband and fibre
network services are powering BurgerFuel’s newly launched
radio station, Radio BurgerFuel, enabling the gourmet burger
company to enhance its brand and customer experience as it
expands globally.
In the highly competitive food industry, BurgerFuel strives to be innovative and provide its customers with a unique experience that sets its brand apart. Radio BurgerFuel was created to enhance the in-store experience for its customers and extend the brand beyond its retail stores.
“In order to provide a high quality, consistent radio stream, we wanted a high speed, robust and secure technology platform that could support our business goals and scalability needs as a global brand in New Zealand and overseas,” said Sean Munden, IT Manager at BurgerFuel.
“The network needed enough power to stream music content over the internet 24/7 to our stores across New Zealand and eventually to our stores as far away as the Middle East.”
BurgerFuel selected Gen-i to install a secure managed fibre service at the BurgerFuel Worldwide headquarters in Grey Lynn, Auckland, where live radio content is pushed out of its purpose-built studio to BurgerFuel stores. All stores were upgraded with large data broadband connections and internet radio devices to allow for stereo broadcasting on site.
“When the idea of Radio BurgerFuel was first developed a few years ago, the technology wasn’t available to make it a reality. Gen-i’s fibre and security service has opened up new opportunities and enabled us to add to the energetic atmosphere in our stores with an audio experience that supports our brand,” said Mr. Munden.
“We chose Gen-i because of the security and resiliency of their solution, which is essential to the reliability and quality of our radio service. Plus, based on our prior client experience, we knew we could expect excellent service and support,” said Mr. Munden.
Chris Quin CEO of Gen-i says BurgerFuel is an outstanding example of a successful Kiwi company utilising fibre to be creative, increase its brand value and compete on the global stage.
“Gen-i is committed to providing fibre services that enable New Zealand companies to deliver real business outcomes and create economic value for the country. We’re investing millions over the next year to develop fibre products to help companies like BurgerFuel share their innovations with the world.”
In addition to fibre services, Gen-i provides BurgerFuel with mobile, voice, data and procurement services.
