PlaceMakers Porirua moving on up… to new premises
It’s good news for the local building trade, as PlaceMakers Porirua announces it is relocating to a newly refurbished,
custom-fitted store in Todd Park, Porirua, in November.
Having operated out of Semple Street for the last 20 years, the move to a new 8,250m2 site at Todd Park means
PlaceMakers will be fully undercover; occupying a sixth of the original Todd Motor Plant building.
The new location will feature an expansive drive through area, plenty of parking and an in-store Wattyl Trade Centre,
and the purpose-designed show room will have the size, space and layout to feature the latest displays. In short, the
new PlaceMakers store is specifically focused and developed to meet the needs of both trade and serious DIY customers.
PlaceMakers Chief Executive Officer John Beveridge says the company is primed for growth in the area, and the upgrade to
modern premises indicates PlaceMakers’ confidence in the strength of the greater Wellington economy.
“PlaceMakers is committed to local trades and the move to more up-to-date facilities provides a platform for future
growth.
“Our commercial reps are well respected by Porirua trade professionals and they’ll all be making the move to Todd Park
with us. We’ve just hired a new residential commercial rep and we hope to expand our team further,” he says.
Having signed an initial six-year lease, PlaceMakers Porirua expects to begin trading at Todd Park by the end of this
year. The Semple Street store will close permanently at that time.
