Marc Ellis and Simon Barnett to
Host New Drive Show!
One of New Zealand’s biggest local radio networks is celebrating the breadth of talent across the country on every More FM by joining forces for one day including Marc Ellis and Simon Barnett co-hosting their own show!
From Keri Keri to Bluff, Friday, 21st September will be More Day.
More FM’s highest profile broadcasters Marc Ellis, Simon Barnett, Gary McCormick and Clarke Gayford will be matched with talented provincial broadcasters such as Andrew Leiataua (winner of Best Music Host Regional, 2012 NZ Radio Awards) and regional legends such as Mike West (Manawatu) and John Markby (Northland).
Each featured broadcaster will host one hour of More Day and there will be celebrity guests and musicians spread throughout the day. Plus there will be an amazing collection of guest newsreaders joining in the fun.
More FM through More Day is helping to raise awareness for the KidsCan Charitable Trust’s campaign encouraging New Zealanders to “support a Kiwi child in our own backyard for as little as 50 cents a day. ”
All proceeds raised from hourly TradeMe auction packages will also go to KidsCan.
The final hour of More Day (from 6pm) will have Marc Ellis and Simon Barnett co-host together for one hour which is also a first and sure to be hugely entertaining!
Marc Ellis is looking forward to sharing a studio with Simon, “I have huge respect for Si & Gary and their long-term success on More FM Christchurch so I can’t wait to mix it up with Si. It’s going to be a busy day as we both are with our own breakfast shows for an hour in the morning too but this is a great day of celebration and we will be raising money for an excellent cause.”
More Day is the creation of Network Programme Director Ande Macpherson who says “across the country, all our More FM teams are looking forward to joining up for More Day and giving listeners a day of special radio including some exciting celebrity guests! Also after the widely reported Children’s Commissioners recommendations we are very happy to be supporting KidsCan who are such a great cause. There’s still time to be part of day too, so I encourage people to contact me or their local More FM to see how they can help.”
Julie Chapman ,KidsCan CEO and Founder says, “The More Day initiative will make a big difference to KidsCan and the money raised will go towards providing food, shoes and raincoats for children less fortunate than others in low decile schools around New Zealand. More FM’s support will also help to raise the profile of KidsCan and the programmes we provide in the 223 schools we currently support”
