Nga Aho Awards and Best Effect Awards finalists announced

Nga Aho Award and Best Effect Award finalists announced
The Designers Institute has introduced two significant awards - the Nga Aho Award and the Best Effect Award. Judging was last Thursday and Friday. Thanks to the Judges for their hard work - Richard Cutfield, Matt McKendry and Nevil Gibson for Best Effect Award and Haare Williams, Noel Brown and Karl Wixon for Nga Aho Award.

Here’s how the judges felt about the respective awards….
“The Best Effect finalists represent a broad, deep and significant contribution to New Zealand business. Amongst the effects are moving primary produce up the value chain, revolutionising pest management, making people care about their power usage, deploying digital media inventively to enrich engagement whilst slashing costs”.

“The Nga Aho finalists demonstrated the value of deep and meaningful collaboration, as well as the successful integration and articulation of cultural concepts, values and identity through design. The projects were purposeful, had integrity of process, and a maturity and cohesiveness in how cultural concepts flowed from idea into design outcome”.
