Closer networks for local businesses
Franklin companies are set to benefit from a closer working relationship of the area’s two most prominent business
support networks.
From today, Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development’s (ATEED) Pukekohe office will be based in the same
premises as the Pukekohe Business Association on King Street.
ATEED’s Manager Business Growth South, Yvette Hellyer, says the move offers benefits for local businesses.
“We’ve always worked well with the Pukekohe Business Association, referring companies to each other for support and
uptake of specific business services,” she says. “Now that we are located in the same building, all our usual services
are still available, but it makes referrals so much more convenient for local businesses as they can get advice and
access to both organisations’ services under the one roof.
“It’s also fantastic to be in the main street of Pukekohe and be able to work with the community on key projects such as
the V8s.”
For the Pukekohe Business Association it offers the opportunity not just to share premises, but important information.
“Because both organisations work with local businesses, being in such close proximity will be a great chance for to
sharing ideas and knowledge about how to best support our clients,” says Kendyl Gibson, Manager, Pukekohe Business
Association.
Franklin Local Board Chairman Andy Baker supports the move.
“Pukekohe continues to develop as a fantastic place to do business and we welcome any endeavour that builds closer
relationships and efficient support services for the community,” he says.
