Community grants closing dates to be announced
What: ASB Community Trust annual meeting and funding information session
When: 1pm, Saturday, 1 September 2012
Where: Te Ahu centre, Kaitaia
Community funder the ASB Community Trust will be announcing its new grant application closing dates and explaining its new funding priorities at its annual public meeting in Kaitaia on 1 September.
The meeting will run from 1pm-2pm and will include the launch of the Trust’s new five-year strategic plan. The Trust will also explain new application closing dates and strategic objectives for community organisation grants.
Trust Chair, Ken Whitney, and CEO, Jennifer Gill, will present the 2012 annual report and the new strategic plan. Trustees will also be at the meeting and community group representatives will be able to talk to them after the formal presentations.
Following the public meeting a funding information session will run from 2pm-3pm. ASB Community Trust grants staff will answer questions and distribute information about grant eligibility and application closing dates.
In the year to 31 March 2012 the Trust distributed $36.6 million to community organisations in Northland and Auckland. The full list of grants is included in the annual report, which will be available at the meeting.

ASB Community Trust makes grants to groups and projects in Auckland and Northland each month. Using funds from the sale of its shareholding in the Auckland Savings Bank, the Trust has granted almost $700m since being formed in 1988.
Any incorporated or charitable trust in Auckland and Northland can apply for funds, provided they are a not-for-profit organisation.
