TELECOM SUPPORTS RED NOSE DAY FOR CURE KIDS ON 24th AUGUST
More than 100 Telecom call centre staff in Christchurch and technical staff in Auckland will be donating their time to man the phones and support the behind-the-scenes operation for this year’s Cure Kids Telethon on Friday (24th August).
Telecom is providing a free phone number - 0800 Cure Kids - which anyone will be able to call on the night - from any phone or network - to donate an amount of their choice to the cause. You can also text CURE to 933 with the full cost - three dollars - going to Cure Kids.
Telecom is delighted to provide its internal expertise for such a worthy New Zealand cause.
Telecom’s General Manager of Customer Experience, Trish Keith, says Telecom staff in Christchurch are extremely excited about being able to support this year’s Red Nose Day event for Cure Kids.
“Telecom is really pleased to be able to support Cure Kids on Friday 24th August, with many of our people donating their time to receive, what we hope will be, lots of calls and donations.
“Last year Telecom Christchurch staff volunteered their own time to answer national calls for Rise Up Christchurch - Te Kotahitanga - which raised more than $2.7 million. Our staff are hoping Kiwis will be just as generous on Red Nose Day!”
Telecom people around the country will also be using their staff volunteer day to sell red noses on the streets as well as make personal donations via payroll giving.
