Valerie Gets Black Gold For Outstanding Performance
Proud supporters packed into Kiwi House last night to show a warm reception for silver Olympic medalist Valerie Adams who also received an unusual reward for her efforts – a PAK’nSAVE Marmite Rescue containing a jar of that much loved but hard to get hold of, Black Gold.
Those present at Kiwi House said Adams, who was accompanied by Swiss coach Jean-Pierre Egger, received a long and loud cheer from an ecstatic crowd, the overwhelming support leaving her a bit teary.
In the wake of ‘Marmageddon’, PAK’nSAVE, one of New Zealand’s largest supermarket brands, located a small amount of Marmite in their warehouse. Rather than sell the precious commodity, the supermarket has decided to look for ways to reward deserving Kiwis and Marmite fans.
Steve Anderson Managing Director, Foodstuffs New Zealand says, “Adams has carried a lot of pressure and to take home a silver medal is a fantastic achievement for New Zealand.”
“Marmite is a very special reminder of home for Kiwis abroad, and we are pleased to be able to award Valerie and all New Zealand Olympic medal winners with a PAK’nSAVE Marmite rescue pack as a thank for the hard work and preparation that goes into every win,” Anderson says.
Marmite lovers can follow the PAK’nSAVE Marmite Rescue team on twitter.com/PAKnSAVErescue, and put a case forward as to why they deserve rescuing.
