Vector Limited will announce its financial results for the year to 30 June 2012 on Thursday 23 August 2012.
NETWORKS SUMMARY for Week
Commencing 30 July 2012
ELECTRICITY
•
Damp but mild would be the most positive way to describe the
weather during the week. Gusty winds, along with squally
showers saw a few weather related incidents including trees
down on lines in Puhoi and Takanini. A car hit a pillar in
Avondale, a vehicle hit a pole in Takapuna, another in Grey
Lynn, Rosedale, Manukau and also Glendowie. Crews had to
respond to a car fire underneath power lines in Kelston and
attended four house fires to ensure fire crews could work
safely in Silverdale, Ellerslie, Weymouth and Brookby. A
small animal appears to be the reason for a transformer fire
in Albany and a cable fault was the cause of the Takanini
feeder issue on Wednesday 1 August. In the most unusual
incident of the week, a faults crew had to clear away metres
of cassette tape wrapped around a power line.
GAS TRANSMISSION AND DISTRIBUTION
•
There were two gas incidents this week; faults crews were
called out to gas strikes in Papatoetoe and Cambridge. Third
party contractors had struck the gas lines with diggers.
Faults crews made both sites safe and repaired the pipes.
Please take care around our gas network and call 0508 B4 U
WORK (248 967) or 0800 B4 U DIG if outside Auckland.
METERING
• Meter deployment continues
at a steady pace.
PROJECTS
UPDATE
• As part of a major road project in
the Tiverton Road/Wolverton Street area, Vector is required
to relocate electricity and gas networks. The work will
include relocating 2.2 kilometres of overhead power lines
underground, and removing the poles. The overhead
electricity service lines from the road to customer’s
houses will also be put underground. Any existing gas
services and power cables that are affected by the widening
of the road will be relocated to the side of the footpath
area. Directional drilling will be used to install ducts
wherever possible. This will involve an excavation at the
start and end of each drilling length and potholes at
intervals. This work will be carried out on the side of the
road. Trenches may be required in some areas. (Photos

ONGAS
• Vector’s OnGas
Bottle Swap program is going from strength to strength,

Category Manager, Wendy Jordan is extremely pleased with this result. “ Given we have a large amount of retail competition local to the area, just goes to show that BP’s consumer offer continues to sit favourably with our customers,” she said.
