Blenheim Leads the Pack at Domino’s Rally
Blenheim residents know a thing or two about pizza, and have proven it by having one of their own take out the top
Leadership Award for Domino’s.
Domino’s Pizza Australia and New Zealand Rally Awards 2012 has given this year’s prestigious Leadership Award to Chris
Donnelly, who was up against tough competition in both New Zealand and Australia.
The award recognises outstanding achievement across all categories including customer service and delivery, sales and
leadership potential.
Donnelly says that he is thrilled with the recognition, and couldn’t have done it without the support of brother and
business partner Matt Donnelly, and the team at Domino’s Blenheim.
“In a way, I see this award as being for the entire Blenheim store rather than just one person. I really couldn’t have
managed it without my dedicated colleagues. We are all really more like an extended family, and they are highly
efficient, enthusiastic people who care about their customers and are passionate about making good pizza.”
Donnelly has previously owned Domino’s Pizza stores in Invercargill, Dunedin, Nelson and Richmond.
Domino’s chief executive officer Don Meij has congratulated Donnelly and Domino’s Blenheim, saying that they set a great
example for others to follow.
“Leadership is about more than inspiration and innovation. It’s important to be able to come up with creative ideas, but
you also need to have good time and people management skills, and be able to follow through with that idea to the
finish. Chris has obviously displayed all those qualities, and we are very proud to announce him as the winner of our
leadership award this year.
“I would also like to take the time to say thank you to the rest of the Blenheim store. Every team member who works
there has contributed to Chris’ success this year, and we look forward to seeing more success stories from Blenheim in
years to come.”
The Domino’s Rally, which was held in Brisbane this week, is a special celebration for Domino’s employees and aims to
boost team spirit and reward the success of outstanding team members across the entire Domino’s family, while
encouraging others to aspire to the same standard of extraordinary sales and operational care.
