Clarification – charges against Pike River
The Pike River Coal Limited (PRCL) situation is as follows: They did not enter a plea and the receivers indicated they would take no further part in the proceedings. As a result, the charges were set down for “formal proof” on 26 October. This is a process where the Ministry will provide to the court the evidence it has to support its charges against PRCL. No convictions have been entered against Pike River Coal Limited.
