Hakanoa gives parents the chance to swap their ginger children for ginger beer
They say children are a blessing, but it’s fair to say no parent sets out wanting a ginger child. So ginger beer maker Hakanoa has given those parents unfortunate enough to be cursed with ginger children the opportunity to swap them for something they will want, a six pack of delicious Hakanoa Handmade Ginger Beer. From Tuesday 31st of July until Friday 31st August parents with ginger spawn will be able to bring them into The Little Grocer on Richmond Road, Grey Lynn, where they will be able to swap them for a six pack of ginger beer. This amazing offer will be communicated to the public by way of the attached street posters which will be appearing throughout Auckland, and two bespoke posters attached to The Little Grocer.
Said Rebekah Hay, Hakanoa Founder: “Parents of ginger children have a pretty tough lot in life. From the sympathetic glances, to the smirks to the feelings of shame, there’s a lot for them to bear. So we’re hoping this small gesture will brighten their lives, even if only for a little while.”
About Hakanoa Handmade Ginger Beer
Hakanoa Handmade Drinks was established by Rebekah Hay in December 2009.
Rebekah started making freshly fermented live unpasteurised ginger beer in two flavours - classic Dry Ginger Beer, and the innovative Lime & Chilli Ginger Beer. Rebekah started selling her products from a van on the side of the road, and they have steadily gained popularity with locals who appreciate a soft drink that's not too sweet.
The ginger beers are now available at many Farmers markets and speciality food stores in Auckland, and are served at over 30 Auckland landmark cafes.
Hakanoa is established on sustainable local business principles; using organic fair trade ingredients wherever possible and locally made recyclable materials for packaging.
