Lotto Goes Mobile
Lotto Goes Mobile
NZ Lotteries is pleased to announce the launch of its revamped website and a new optimised mobile website, says NZ Lotteries’ Chief Executive Wayne Pickup.
MyLotto.co.nz was launched in 2008 and since then NZ Lotteries has given away $55 million in prizes to more than three million online winners.
“The new-look MyLotto was released this week and it is now much easier for our customers to navigate the site, to play their favourite games and to find results,” says Mr Pickup.
“We’re looking forward to giving away even more online prizes.”
The biggest change for our online customers is improved mobile functionality. NZ Lotteries have introduced a mobile site that is properly optimised for Android and Apple smartphones.
“Mobile devices are becoming New Zealanders preferred way of getting online, with smartphone penetration rates now estimated at more than 40 percent of the New Zealand population. Increasingly, people are making more and more of their day-to-day retail purchases via their mobile phones.
“We need to reflect customer shopping trends, so we’ve designed MyLotto Mobile especially for smartphone access.”
With the enhanced mobile functionality, customers can easily buy tickets, check results and access their stored ‘favourite numbers’ – all using their smartphone. There’s also a handy Lotto outlet finder that directs customers to their closest store – from wherever they are in New Zealand.
Online sales of NZ Lotteries products currently make up around five percent of all sales and there are more than 200,000 registered MyLotto users.
Profits from NZ Lotteries are transferred to the New Zealand Lottery Grants Board to provide funding to community groups across New Zealand and to support arts, cultural and sporting groups. The NZ Lottery Grants Board is a major provider of funding for Sport New Zealand, Creative New Zealand and the New Zealand Film Commission.
The new-look web and mobile sites www.mylotto.co.nz were officially launched on Monday 16 July.
