New Zealand’s Invivo Wines Launches in Canada
For immediate release, July 2012
Auckland, New Zealand
This month sees the exciting launch of Invivo Wines in the Canadian market following Liquor Board approval earlier in the year. The roll out will see Invivo’s award winning Sauvignon Blanc in B.C. and Alberta stores from this month, and later in 2012, Invivo will be available in the East Coast provinces.
To support the launch, Invivo has appointed a North America Market Manager, Mike Cornwell, the kiwi expat was previously a Director of Red Bull Canada for 7 years, and prior to that role Cornwell was employed with Lion in New Zealand managing the premium beer range. Invivo’s cofounder Tim Lightbourne comments “We have been working with Mike since January and he has done a great job introducing Invivo to the Canadian market, it’s important that we are able to utilise his extensive local knowledge and understanding of the various distribution channels”
Invivo has also appointed Vancouver based public relations agency, Heth PR who bring the experience of managing the communications for renowned Canadian wine event The Vancouver PIayhouse International Wine Festival. Lightbourne adds, “It’s important to hit the ground running and show support to our retailers and create awareness with inmarket activity led by the Heth PR team.” To support the launch, Invivo has partnered with world champion New Zealand street artists TMD to work on limited edition Invivo wine boxes which will be on display in Canada.
Canada is New Zealand’s fourth largest export market for wine with NZD$60million* sold to Canada in 2011, up 28% since 2008. Invivo is distributed in B.C and Alberta by Summit Fine Wines, Crains Crest Wines in Ontario and Agence Benedictus in in Quebec. The cofounders of Invivo will be hosting tastings in Canada during September 2012.
