The RVA is a national
body that works to represent, protect and promote the
interests of its members and their village residents. The
principal aim of the RVA is to represent villages with a
shared vision for providing quality services. In order to
achieve this aim, the association has for some time had a
member Code of Practice requiring RVA members to operate
their villages in a professional manner and with the highest
level of commercial integrity. The Code of Practice is
externally audited by designated audit agencies and provides
assurance to residents and members that village management
is meeting the required standards.
Bupa operates 17 retirement villages nationwide comprising of 800 units and apartments. They also operate 46 care homes across the country, offering a combination of rest home and hospital level care serving over 3000 residents. In addition to care and retirement living, Bupa provide personal medical alarms to over 11,500 New Zealanders living in the community and recently purchased the Abano brain rehabilitation business.
