Kiwi mobile app developers make big impact in digital world

Kiwi mobile app developers making big impact in digital world

4 July, 2012

Kiwi enterprise mobile application development agency, SUSH Mobile are making their mark in media globally by creating a series of apps that are predicted to take the smartphone and tablet world by storm.

Since being established in 2008, the Auckland-based company has partnered up with organisations such as Local Government NZ, Spicers NZ Ltd and Ritchies Coachlines, as well as budding entrepreneurs, to develop innovative apps that are changing the way companies do business. Sush is also developing apps for some major corporate players that remain firmly under wraps until launch because they are so cutting edge.

One of the apps Sush recently launched is the Precision Farming app, which created a buzz at the Field Days and is expected to change the face of farming globally. The app is an innovative 'all in one' tool used to order, monitor, measure and record the activities of fertiliser spreader on farms, saving farmers thousands of dollars on purchasing the GPS devices usually used to track their fertilising activities.

Another app launched this month by SUSH is the DIY Form + app that literally removes paperwork for enterprise workers on the go. The app allows users to create and fill out custom-made forms on their smart-phone or tablet device to meet their specific job needs, saving hours of duplication on data entry.

Sush Mobile director Sheenu Chawla says developing an app for business use is no longer just about making a website user-friendly on a mobile device.

"We are working on several projects at the moment that are business solutions delivered in a fun, innovative way," she says. "Some of the apps we are developing are expected to cause a huge stir in the business and digital world because they are breaking new ground in terms of what an app is traditionally used for."

"We've seen a huge increase over the last couple of years in the use of smart phone and tablet devices for business, and all the indications are that usage will continue to rise.

"As a result, mobile device applications are changing the way businesses engage with their customers as well as enhancing the capabilities of their operations. A successful app should not only look great, but also cater to the needs of the user by making their lives easier."

Chawla predicts tablets in particular, such as iPads, will become high demand products for businesses wanting to utilise their large screen for showcasing and sharing work.

"Less than a year ago people were hesitant about the longevity of the iPad, however we've seen a huge burst of interest in tablets, especially in the business sector with employees utilising iPad apps," she says.
