ASB opens Rangiora branch to meet growth in North Canterbury

ASB is responding to a growing population and increased demand from customers in North Canterbury by opening a new branch in Rangiora.

Rangiora Branch Manager Katrina Adams says North Canterbury had long been identified as an area of future growth for ASB, and the aftermath of the earthquakes has seen increased population growth and even greater customer demand in the area.

“Canterbury continues to be an important focus for us, and expanding customer needs are driving our investment in the region,” she says. “Establishing a branch in Rangiora has been a priority for ASB as we’ve seen our local customer base expanding over the past few years. We’ve always had strong business links to the district, particularly with our rural customers, and this new branch will also provide a launching pad for our rural and business teams to provide services to the wider North Canterbury community.”

The new Rangiora branch brings the total number of ASB branches in and around Christchurch to nine. The new Rangiora branch, at 202 High Street, will offer the very latest in banking technology including:

· FastNet internet banking in-branch for ASB customers to use.

· FastDeposit - a quick and convenient way to deposit money 24/7 with immediate credit to the customer’s account .

· The latest ASB ATMs.

· FastCount - a coin sorting machine located in the branch. No need for customers to sort or bag coins before they come into the branch - our FastCount machine will do this for them.

· Video conference phones for customers to access a wide range of ASB specialists face to face.

“Our team is looking forward to welcoming ASB customers to our Rangiora branch and we invite ASB customers and local residents along on our opening day,” Ms Adams says.

The new branch is due to open on Monday, 2 July. It will be run by five local staff members, and will be open five days a week between 9:00am and 4:30pm. A secure lobby with an ATM and after hours deposit facility will be open to customers 24 hours, seven days a week.
