Nielsen Market Intelligence Website Ranking for May 2012 - Blog and Message Board Contributors
Please find attached a website ranking of the ten channels in Nielsen Market Intelligence NZ domestic traffic showing the sites that attract the highest percentage of people who have contributed to a message board, online forum or blog, for the month of May 2012*.
The rankings do not show which websites have the actual highest traffic numbers (i.e. total number of unique browsers) of this demographic, but instead show which websites have the highest percentage of their traffic consisting of people who have contributed to a message board, online forum or blog for the month of May. For example, publicaddress.net is the number one ranking because 57 percent of its unique browsers meet the demographic requirement, although their total number of matched unique browsers equals 8,278. On the other hand, gameplanet.co.nz in sixth place has 52 percent of its unique browsers that meet the demographic requirement, but their total number of matched unique browsers equals 39,687.
To put these numbers into perspective, the proportion of overall New Zealand internet users who say they have contributed to a message board, online forum or blog for the month of May is 32.1 percent.
Demographic segmentation of website traffic can be an incredibly useful tool for marketers. Being able to identify what websites are dominated by which particular demographic can allow marketers to better target their advertising and promotions, resulting in better lead generation and lower overall cost.
These rankings can be customised to the needs of your publications and articles.
