New General Manager at Jet Park Hotel
Jet Park Hotel & Conference Centre is pleased to announce the appointment of Jeeva Jeeva-Nanthan to the role of General Manager following current GM Sebastian Herrman’s departure on July 6.
Jeeva moves into the role from his current position as Jet Park’s Financial Controller, which he has held for the past two and a half years.
Growing up in Sri Lanka with a father in the industry and spending 25 years in hotels himself, Jeeva feels the hospitality industry is “in his blood”. His involvement in hospitality spans five countries. His philosophy on the hotel industry is similar to the experience of having guests in his house. “The people working in the industry are mainly service-orientated and gel together with the same mindset,” he observes.
Jeeva describes Jet Park as
having a “resort feeling” about it, combined with the
efficiency of a business hotel.
“Jet Park’s point of
difference is personalised service along with constant
product innovation,” he says. “For example, we have
recently launched the new ‘Family Suites’ and have
several new projects on the horizon. It’s an exciting time
to be stepping into the role.”
Jet Park, a New Zealand-owned, family-run four-star plus airport hotel just five minutes away from Auckland Airport, has for the past three years been managed by a brothers/sister team: Sebastian, Ashley Schierhout, and Sonja Herrmann: Sebastian as General Manager, Ashley ensuring the “nuts and bolts” of the property, assets, and buildings are managed, and Sonja managing human resources and marketing. Liz Herrmann and John Lateulere are the Directors.
“I decided it was time to trade in my briefcase for a backpack for a while,” Sebastian says. “Jet Park Hotel has been an exciting and successful part of my career. The appointment of Jeeva to the role of GM is an excellent decision and his passion for the hotel industry and for genuine guest experience will ensure Jet Park Hotel remains a market leader at the Airport.”
