All new KFC Pie on sale today

Giant ‘piecon’ statue and free KFC Pies at Auckland University

Today marks the launch of New Zealand’s newest icon, the all new KFC Pie.

Brimming with tender chicken, KFC’s signature potato and gravy and the Colonel’s 11 secret herbs and spices, the hearty and oh-so tasty new KFC Pie comes encased in delicious golden pastry.

Developed in New Zealand for Kiwi taste buds and available for a limited time only, KFC expects the KFC Pie to go down a treat with customers when it hits stores today.

“We Kiwis love our pies, they’re a national icon,” said KFC General Manager Brent Kitto.

“With the KFC Pie, we’ve taken one Kiwi icon, the pie, and filled it with another, that so good taste of tender chicken and potato and gravy.

“We’re really excited about this launch. With all that signature KFC taste and delicious golden pastry, it not only tastes so good but has the makings of a true Kiwi ‘piecon’.”

Mr Kitto said the company had been working on the pie for some time after research showed customers wanted something that was easy to eat on the go.

Retailing at $4.50 and $6.50 for a pie and regular Krusher combo, the KFC Pie will be available at all KFC stores nationwide from Tuesday 10am.

And because every Kiwi icon deserves a giant statue, Aucklanders can check out a giant 3-metre tall pie statue on show today in the University of Auckland quad, with free samples of the KFC Pie being given away between 11am-1pm.
