New Director For Methven
Leading New Zealand shower and tapware designer Methven Limited [MVN], has appointed Mrs Alison Taylor to the Board as an Independent Director.
Mrs Taylor, Chief Operating Officer of Griffins Foods Limited, one of New Zealand's largest branded food companies, will join the Board effective 1 June and stand for election at the Annual Shareholder Meeting on 19 July 2012.
With over 20 years experience at major international FMCG companies including PepsiCo, Kimberley Clark, Watties and Goodman Fielder, Mrs Taylor has an extensive background in marketing and the execution of a number of significant business transformation projects in privately owned and publicly-listed organisations. Mrs Taylor was Chairperson of the Breast Cancer Research Trust for three years and is currently on the board of the New Zealand Food and Grocery Council.
Mrs Taylor's appointment to the Methven Board comes following a lengthy search for an Independent Director following David Mair's departure on 31 December.
According to Methven Chairman, Mr Phil Lough, as part of the process the Board spent considerable time determining the most appropriate skills and expertise required to assist Methven to move forward.
"Following a thorough selection process, we are pleased to announce Alison Taylor's appointment to the Methven Board and we are confident that Alison's extensive international marketing experience, new channel creation and management expertise will add significant value to the business," Mr Lough said.
"Alison's skill set complements those of the existing Directors and she brings a wealth of knowledge and a fresh new perspective to the Board."
Mrs Taylor added: "I'm excited to be joining the Methven Board and believe I can add real value to the company's strategic direction, particularly in the global marketing area."
