Time the Real Truth Told About Fertilisers Groundspreaders Say
The New Zealand Groundspread Fertilisers Association (NZGFA) has congratulated the NZ Fertiliser Quality Council (FQC) on its podcast, ‘New Zealand Needs Fertiliser and Plants Need Food’.
NZGFA chair, Stuart Barwood, said it was time the real truth was told about fertiliser and its application.
“For too long we’ve had the ignorant and ill-informed pillorying the greater fertiliser industry in New Zealand,” Stuart Barwood said. “I’m surprised the media has given them such a free ride and not asked any of the hard questions.
“Fertiliser manufacture and spreading in New Zealand are highly precise and extremely professional industries. Ethical fertiliser companies and Spreadmark accredited operators ensure that only the nutrients that are required are applied and put exactly where they are needed.
“That is highly responsible and vital for New Zealand’s future.
“If we don’t keep feeding our soils we are effectively mining them,” Barwood said. “That would be disastrous for the environment and catastrophic for the economy.”
