Some of the most innovative technology solutions to
support businesses will be on display at the free Technology
for Smarter Business expo, being held at Baycourt in
Tauranga on Thursday 24 May.
The expo is being organised by the Western Bay of Plenty ICT Cluster, which was established by economic development organisation Priority One in 2003. The cluster has over 450 members from around 180 Tauranga and Western Bay of Plenty information technology and communications businesses.
This year there will be over 20 exhibitors at the expo, and all will focus on showcasing products and services that can increase productivity and maximise business potential. “The expo has a strong focus on technology for business,” says Annie Hill, Priority One’s Project Manager. “It will be a chance for companies to discover innovative solutions that can reduce overheads, increase profile, help staff build knowledge and future proof businesses.”
On display will be the latest solutions to streamline business processes, remote working technologies and smart open source options, as well as tips to make the most of websites and effectively use social media channels. The latest in broadband and wireless technology will be covered and businesses can find out the best option for them now that fibre for ultrafast broadband is bring rolled out in Tauranga. Ultrafast broadband has the potential to bring significant productivity gains to local businesses. There will also be information on online publishing and e-readers available at the show.
The Christchurch earthquake highlighted the importance of protecting business information in the event of disaster. A number of exhibitors will be showcasing Cloud computing solutions, data security services and business continuity planning tools to safeguard business information and ensure businesses remain viable following small or large disasters.
