NZ Ministry for Primary Industries Selects Fujitsu
NZ Ministry for Primary Industries Selects Fujitsu to Provide IT Managed Services
Fujitsu to supply Managed Services in 4 + 3 year syndicated procurement contract.
Wellington, 10 May 2012 – Fujitsu has been selected as one of three service providers announced as members of the panel for the provision of IT managed services by the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI - formerly the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry).
The announcement is the outcome of a project led by MPI, and supported by other public sector agencies, to develop a syndicated procurement agreement. It covers the provision of service aggregation, service desk support, user device support, server support, procurement services, database management and other IT services.
Under the new agreement, MPI has engaged Fujitsu New Zealand to deliver IT managed services from 1 November 2012 in a 4 plus 3 year contract.
The syndicated agreement is intended for use by agencies that already use service aggregation (multi-sourced integration) as their ICT operating model, and those that intend to progress towards this model.
The value and other commercial details of the agreement are confidential but the new procurement model is expected to result in significant efficiencies gained through the standardisation of IT environments and the economies of scale from the adoption of IT managed services by individual agencies and for the NZ Government as a whole.
The panel win will add to the significant growth experienced by Fujitsu New Zealand over the last 2 years.
Jo Healey, Managing Director, Fujitsu New Zealand, said: “MPI is to be congratulated for the development of its visionary IT Managed Services procurement brief. The panel agreement will cost-effectively provide the latest technologies to underpin the services provided by New Zealand’s public sector agencies. As the only global services company on the panel, Fujitsu will bring into play valuable innovation and perspectives from our world-wide presence.”
This strategic panel win positions Fujitsu to extend its existing strong base of NZ Government Managed Services customers.
