TPK Chief Executive to remain in Acting Position
The State Services Commissioner, Iain Rennie, today announced that Te Puni Kōkiri (Ministry of Māori Development) Chief Executive Leith Comer will stay with the Ministry in an Acting Chief Executive capacity.
Mr Comer, whose contract concludes at the end of June 2012, has accepted the State Services Commissioner’s request to serve as Acting Chief Executive until the end of September 2012.
Mr Rennie said that with the Ministry of Māori Affairs’ announcement today of an appointment of a Working Party to look at a potential refocus of the department, it was prudent to ensure continuity of leadership over the coming months.
“Mr Comer acting in the Chief Executive role will provide a smooth transition to a new Chief Executive once appointed,” Mr Rennie said.
The State Services Commissioner will advertise the Chief Executive vacancy in the near future.
