Foodstuffs and Fusion Transactive to Launch New Fuel Management System
 
Kiwi companies Foodstuffs and Fusion Transactive Ltd have confirmed a deal for the payment solutions company to replace Foodstuffs’ current fuel management system. The new system will be rolled out to all 44 Foodstuffs fuel sites nationwide by the end of 2012.
 
The integrated management solution will enable Foodstuffs to be more flexible in their fuel discount offering for customers shopping at participating PAK`n SAVE and New World stores.
 
Foodstuffs spokesperson, Steve Anderson, says that this is an exciting opportunity for customers as it improves the customer experience to enable a more efficient, reliable and faster forecourt service.
 
“We are committed to offering our PAK’nSAVE and New World shoppers the best experience. This contract enables us to sustain this promise, and continue to deliver the fast and robust service that our customers want. ”
 
“This partnership will ensure real improvements in the management of fuel sites, allowing our stores to be more flexible in reacting to the market fluctuations, which gives them the advantage of offering competitive prices,” Mr Anderson says.
 
Fusion Transactive, a New Zealand-based global supplier of retail automation systems, partnered with Foodstuffs to see the new G6 Outdoor Payment Terminal deployed to the fuel sites. The G6 is complete with the latest security certification requirements and with the ability to accept discount vouchers by barcode scanning as well as contactless payment technology.
 
Fusion’s spokesperson Sir Peter Maire says the partnership is a great step forward for both companies, and updating the fuel site technology is a vital component in maintaining Foodstuffs’ market-leading position.
 
“Foodstuffs have made a strategically sound decision in investing in the new fuel management system nationwide, and both customers and the corporate will reap the advantages of the change for many years. Our systems provide the best in cutting-edge technology and a complete service offering for retail fuel environments. The G6 barcode scanning will improve the speed of service on the forecourt resulting in less queuing for Foodstuffs customers.”
 
The fuel operating solution will be piloted in September this year, with country-wide rollout to the participating sites expected to be complete by the end of 2012.
