Huawei and Vodafone Launch First Ascend Smartphone
New Zealand, April 23, 2012: Huawei and Vodafone have joined forces to launch the Huawei Ascend G 300, delivering the high specifications previously reserved for phones with equally high price tags.
The Huawei Ascend G 300 launches with the Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) operating system and is powered by a 1GHz CPU, 512MB RAM and a powerful 3D graphics engine. It features a bright, vivid 4.0-inch screen and five-megapixel camera.
Available for $0 on a Vodafone Smart Data $70 plan (RRP $449), the Ascend G 300 cements Huawei’s reputation for making great technology available to all.
“This is the first Huawei-branded smartphone available to Vodafone customers. It has the power to support all the latest games and services which, when coupled with that four-inch screen, provides a fantastic user experience,” says Huawei Public Affairs Manager, Mark Champion.
“The Ascend G 300 represents outstanding capability and value and we are excited to be bringing it to Vodafone’s customers.”
Beyond the spec sheet, the Ascend G 300 brings further innovation as the first Android smartphone in New Zealand to feature Vodafone’s HelpLogIn application.
HelpLogIn is a Vodafone secure application which gives the Vodafone contact centre remote access to the handset for trouble shooting when the customer calls for assistance.
Vodafone General Manager Channels and Terminals Todd Hardie says HelpLogIn on the Huawei Ascend G 300 is all about making the smartphone experience even better for customers.
“Customers have told us that having an agent access, diagnose, and fix their smartphone without even touching it has been a real ‘wow’ experience. We’re looking forward to bringing even more wow factor to our customers with this app bundled into the Huawei Ascend G 300”
The Ascend G 300 will be available in Vodafone stores from May 1, 2012.
Huawei Ascend G 300 features include:
· 1GHz Processor
