Orbit Auckland Welcomes New Leadership
19 APRIL, 2012 - House of Travel Parnell and Orbit Corporate Travel Auckland are excited to introduce our new owner and CEO, Brendan Drury who takes up the post from April 2012.
As a new Owner / Operator, Brendan brings extensive and broad experience in Travel Management and Retail Travel to the House of Travel group.
Brendan has had an exciting career which spans over 25 years in the airline and travel industry, both in New Zealand as well as internationally.
House of Travel Holdings CEO and previous Orbit Corporate Travel Auckland owner Mark O’Donnell says, “Brendan brings to Orbit and House of Travel a fantastic leadership in corporate travel management and retail strategies, innovation, lateral and technology approach. He’s got great expertise in change management and a focussed business methodology with an emphasis on execution and result which we think will really take this business to the next level”.
Brendan’s leadership is motivated by providing pragmatic strategic solutions with commercial acumen & ensuring the customer is at the forefront. This is coupled with a staff culture which is about empowering his team and providing commercial and creative thinking.
As an Owner / Operator of Orbit Travel Auckland and House of Travel Parnell, Brendan shares responsibility for the future strategic direction of one of New Zealand’s most enterprising and progressive 'kiwi owned' Travel Management Companies.
Prior to joining as an Owner / Operator of Orbit Corporate Travel Auckland and House of Travel Parnell, Brendan held two roles within the Stella Group including CEO Hogg Robinson Group (HRG) and GM Commercial APX. The two organisations merged in 2009.
Brendan has also enjoyed leading as General Manager FCm Travel Solutions and Group Manager at Air New Zealand Business Direct (now Tandem Travel ), the corporate travel management company for Air New Zealand. In addition he has enjoyed many years with Air New Zealand in a variety of capacities, both locally and in Singapore where he held the position of Regional Marketing Manager, Asia/Japan.
Brendan, born and raised in Christchurch and is based in the Auckland office of Parnell.
