New Zealand’s fastest home broadband already here
New Zealand’s fastest home broadband already here
Leading telecommunications company TelstraClear today launched New Zealand’s fastest broadband for residential customers on its cable network, running at 100Mbps download. This is the same as the top speed that will initially be offered on the under-construction ultra fast broadband network.
TelstraClear chief executive Allan Freeth says that the company has many business customers already taking advantage of its high-speed services.
“In 2010 we trialled 100Mbps broadband for cable-connected residential customers and it worked extremely well, and some of those people are still connected at that speed. We decided to postpone the commercial launch as there was little market for it at the time. In the last few years, things have changed and the appetite for speed is now there so we now offer next generation WarpSpeed broadband to residential customers.”
The price for New Zealand’s fastest broadband starts at just $115.95 per month for 100Gb of data, 100Mbps download speed and 10Mbps upload.
“We’ve been a market leader for many years and our cable service has consistently been rated the fastest broadband in independent tests. This 100mbps WarpSpeed broadband well and truly cements that well-earned reputation.”
Allan Freeth says that customers on TelstraClear’s cable service (Wellington, Kapiti and Christchurch) can upgrade to the new 100Mbps WarpSpeed and enjoy broadband they’ve only dreamt of, especially if they’re browsing the TelstraClear unmetered websites, including all the MediaWorks TV and radio station sites.
“Once more we’re leading the way in New Zealand and proving that we’re the home of broadband. We are bringing the future to Kiwis today. You don’t need to wait up to 10 years for ultra fast broadband.”
